The Kit That Makes Travel Tolerable

Standard

Flights are not always fun. But W&P Design, based in Brooklyn, NY, practically deserves an award for doing its part to improve them by making great-tasting cocktails available at 30,000 feet with its carry-on cocktail kits.

The kits have been around for a few months—available in Old Fashioned (below, bottom), Moscow Mule, and Gin & Tonic varieties.

The package has just about everything needed to whip up the perfect Champagne Cocktail in the sky: a miniature jigger and bar spoon, elderflower syrup, and linen coaster. All you have to do is add the sparkling wine.

The Bag That Pays Tribute To Princess Diana

Kate Middleton is back at it again with the gray Tod’s bag.

The budding magazine editor recently carried the same bowler she’s had since 2009, which, if you think about it, makes it older than both her children *and* her status as a royal.

Who else was a fan of Tod’s? Princess Diana, whose go-to was an earlier incarnation of the very same tote, which was renamed the D-Bag (we’re guessing they didn’t know the other meaning of that phrase) after her death. Given how carefully the Duchess acknowledges (both sides of) her family with her styling decisions, this was definitely not a coincidence.

The Next Best Thing To Living At 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue

If this year’s high-stakes presidential election is any indication, living in the White House is a super-covetable gig. After all, fewer than 45 people have ever held the position.

Instead of jockeying to become the next POTUS (a.k.a. mission impossible), why not set your sights on a home that lets you pretend you’re the leader of the free world? We already clued you in to the White House replica in Texas, but if Washington D.C. is more your speed, we’ve got a townhouse that is sure to pique your interest.

The $4.5 million home was built in 1911, by the same architects who designed the West Wing of the White House — you know, home to the President’s executive offices.

And while it’s not located on Pennsylvania Avenue (where the White House sits), it is on a state-inspired street: Massachusetts Avenue, better known as Millionaire’s Row, according to Curbed.

The five-story space comes equipped with eight bedrooms, seven bathrooms, several beautiful fireplaces, and a whopping five parking spots. The streamlined home has an understated elegance that feels quite similar to the Underwood’s townhouse in “House of Cards” — the place they lived before finally making it to the White House — making it the perfect fit for someone climbing the political ladder… or just pretending to.

In a new interview with Telegraph, Beckham revealed, “I just can’t do heels any more. At least not when I’m working. I travel a lot.” She went on to talk about how her uniform has changed recently, adding, “Clothes have to be simple and comfortable.” Comfortable?! In the wise words of Justin Bieber, what do you mean, Victoria Beckham?! This is a lot to process from the woman who once walked on a desk treadmill in platform heels.

Taylor Goes From Goth To Snow White

Standard

celeb-style-taylor-swift

Just yesterday we saw pop star Taylor Swift debut a new, edgy, goth-y look grounded by a pair of Vetements boots, but last night in West Hollywood, the 26-year-old swapped yin for yang in an all-white look. It’s not the first time Swift has stepped out in a white suit—at the 2012 MTV VMAs, she wore J. Mendel’s take on Le Smoking—but last night made for a fresh spin on #girlboss style.

The slouchy silhouette of the singer’s Isabel Marant suit lends her a hint of boyish insouciance. She adds ALC’s crop top to show a hint of skin and offset the formality of the double-breasted jacket, while her ladylike clutch and classic Manolo Blahnik BB stilettos add a note of sophistication. With this new gender-fluid look, perhaps Swift is looking to add a dash of androgyny—and perhaps a boy—to her squad.
